What's Digitalb?
The Albanian pay-tv
platform called Digitalb is a pay-tv operator broadcasting on Eutelsat
W2 at 16 East.
News about this provider has spread pretty fast mainly because there
are Digitalb resellers in much of Europe, because of its price and
content, and the fact that the original language soundtrack is available.Let''s
take a closer look on what the Albanians have on offer. There are 2
channel packages available. 1 basic package and another which contains
premium channels with sports and movies. Probably the latter, will be
of most interest to Non Albanians but since Top Channel shows 1 Premiere
League match each saturday, football fans may want to go with the Full
package. Those Premium only subscriptions cards does not give access
to the basic channels.
Channels

Digitalb 5 mainly football. Digitalb has the rights
to the English Premiership, the German Bundesleague and the French football
league. During week days Digitalb 5 shows football club tv Milan TV.
Digitalb shows around 5 English Premier League matches, 4 German Bundesleague,
and 2 French League, 1-2 Italien league matches only home games for
the teams Lazio, Cagliari, Lecce and Treviso each week. Movies are shown
late in the evening and during the night.
Why no Spanish league? Well these rights and rights for the Champions
League and the main rights for Italian league are held by the rival
Albanian provider Albaniasat. But Champions League is moving to Digitalb
next season.
Digitalb 6 show mostly American movies and during weekends
live football.
Digitalb 7-8 show mostly American movies and during
weekends show live football. From around midnight the movies shown on
these channels are erotic movies.
Digi Premiere is another movie channel. The most recent
movies are shown here. Some in fact very recent and before they are
shown by most other European pay-tv providers even as PPV.
Channel X shows erotic movies all day.

Bang Bang is a children''s and cartoon channel. Movies
such a Shrek 2, Finding Nemo and Toy Story have been on.
Digi Autor is another movie channel. Movies like Platoon,
21 Grams, Casablanca.
Explorer Channel consists of documentaries.
Digi+ tv shows like The West Wing, X-Files and such.
Top Channel has various programming movies, shows,
news and such. Top Channel shows 1 Premier League match every saturday
at 16.00 C.E.T in addition to the one on Digitalb 5.
Picture and Audio
Movies are shown with original soundtrack but with Albanian subtitles
which cannot be removed. Premier League and most Bundesleague and French
league games are shown with an English commentary option. The video
quality has been hit with the introduction of 6 new channels which has
forced Digitalb to use less quality video since they're carrying 19
channels all on one transponder. Not all movies on Digitalb 5-8 seem
to be high quality copies in the first place. The audio quality is better
on the football than on ART Sport 2.
