Optical Design
Solutions for customer integrated lighting applications are custom engineered using a low risk “design for manufacturing” philosophy. Using a combination of commercial optical design packages, mechanical CAD tools, and Luminit’s proprietary in-house radiometric modeling tool, R2T®, based upon 4D phase space formalism, even complex illumination systems that incorporate NIO elements, kinoforms, diffractive components, Fresnel elements, microprisms, TIR lenses, optical waveguides with custom 3D microstructures, and scattering elements like surface diffusers can be modeled and evaluated. 4D phase space analysis is ideal for visualization of radiometric performance because entendué (flux gathering geometry) is directly accessible to the designer in a straightforward intuitive way. Hence engineering design changes can be made very quickly shortening the product development cycle and time to market.
