During Sonic Boom Sound's early years, Mr. Atherton held the position as the Sound Supervisor for the leading developer of children's interactive educational software at Knowledge Adventure.
After creating thousands of sound elements, designing a studio, and bringing Dolby Surround sound to Knowledge Adventure's games, the company went forward to do work for the television audience. The company worked on promos and commercials for Columbia Tristar Television, USA Network, Warner Brothers Television, Fox Broadcasting, and Martha Stewart.
In mid-1998 the company re-focused on the emerging internet market and began to pull together experienced multimedia music composers, sound designers, sound recordists, and sound editors forming a coalition of creative minds. With this structure in place, Sonic Boom Sound possesses the ability and drive to deliver high quality content, and elevated production values to web site and multimedia game developers. It was at this time, Sonic Boom Sound was called upon by Knowledge Adventure's former founder, Bill Gross, now at Idealab! (www.Idealab.com), to produce a web audio banner advertisement for Tickets.com and prepare music for streaming on Woodstock.com and FirstLook.com. Sonic Boom Sound continues to be utilized for sound production work for Idealab! hatched companies.
In July, 1999 Sonic Boom Sound broke new ground by providing video conversions for the web with Clear Digital (www.ClearDigital.com) and the project TrickyOnline.com. Since then, Sonic Boom Sound has provided video and sound elements for Clear Digital's Flash based web commercials and web site projects including the newest broadband venture with Veon and Jive Records.
In March, 2000, Sonic Boom Sound moved to Clear Digital's progressive multimedia design studio to be closer to their creative process and provide Clear Digital's clients with the benefit of having an on site sound development and production studio. |
